The Hunger Games
一つの場所に集められ殺し合い、一人だけが生き残れるゲーム。
それが"The Hunger Games"。
以前勝ち残った生存者がまたゲームに参加したり、運営側がちょっかいを出して生存者同士を戦うように仕向けたりなど、バトル・ロワイアル
ティーンエージャー向け。
だけれど知らない単語がたくさんあって、いちいちオンライン辞書で調べて時間がかかった。
また訳がつかめないところもありなかなか読み進まなかったので、理解度８０％くらいでいいやと心に決めなんとか読み終えることが出来た。
読み終えると達成感があり、途中で読むのを諦めなくてよかったと思う。
読解力のなさで疑問がいくつかある。
なぜThreashはRueと同盟を組み、敵を討ち手厚く葬ったKatnissを助けたのか？兄弟だったり恋人だったのだろうか？
チーズは誰が食べた？
Catoはいつの間にPeetaを捕まえたのか？
などなど。
三部作で二番目と三番目は図書館に所蔵がないので、残念ながら別の本を読もうと思う。
