今回はオンライン英語添削[アイディー] 
で用意されている課題文を選択した。
黒文字が自分の作文。赤文字が講師による添削。
訂正はだいたい４つ。
１つ目の訂正は"aim"を"direction"に直された。
"something to live for"って「生きがい」とか「目標」だと思う。
添削者はこの課題を"losing the will to live"「生きる意欲、意志を失う」と捉えているが、自分は「生きる目標を失う」と捉えた。
目標を失っているだけなので、生きる意志が無いとまでは言えないと思う。
例えば、ぬるい生活に耽ったり、ただただ毎日が過ぎていく状態、上昇志向のない状態だ。
"lose direction"だと「方向を失う」という意味にしかならないのではないか？
【可算名詞】 (思想などの)傾向，動向，動き.
new directions in art 芸術の新傾向.
これは可算だ。添削文では"their direction"となっているのでは、この意味では使っていないのだろう。

２つ目の訂正は"Japanese"を"Japanese people"に直された。
"Japanese"だけだと、軽蔑のニュアンスがあるんだそうだ。
３つ目の訂正はパラレリズムについて。
パラレリズムっていうのは自分にはかなり難しい。
アイテムを並べて、そこから同じ意味を持つ違う型に変換して型を揃えなければいけない。
３行目は以下の３文を１つにしたものだ。（正しくは"A, B, and C"ではなく"A, B, or C"で繋げなるべきだったと思う）

添削文では以下のように違う意味合いに捉えられてしまった。
There exists those people who work desperately for subsisting
There exists those people who work desperately for lives filled with worrying about being sick
There exists those people who work desperately for fear of life after retirement
３行目を正しくパラレリズムするとしたら以下のようにしたら良かったか？
There exists those people who work desperately for subsisting, live with worries about sicks, or worry about life after retirement.
４つ目の訂正は"are tend to do"を"tend to do"に直された。
課題文に"be tend to do"があるので、自分もそれに従った。
Which is correct:
1. These expressions tend to be negated in the same way.
2. These expressions ARE tend to be negated in the same way.
２は文法的に間違いらしいがBBCで見たことがあるとのこと…
とりあえず"tend to do"だけ正解だと覚えておけばいいか。
